theTARCinc conducts a Wireless Institute of Australia accredited examination service
providing Assessors, the necessary security and a suitable venue for Assessment sessions.
The Assessment materials are prepared by the Wireless Institue of Australia Exams Service
under strict guidelines laid down by the Australian Communications and Media Authority.

Recommended Data:
You will definitely need to download the current Amateur LCD and the current
edition of the WIA Practical Assessment Form.
Perusal of the WIA and ACMA links featured below will also increase your
understanding of the licensing and assessment requirements.
If you are attempting the Advanced Theory Assessment then purchasing the

Choosing Your Callsign:
Let's think positive and assume you get through your Assessments with
flying colours ! One other thing you will have to think about is
what callsign you might want to have, and is it taken already.
A search of the WIA Public List of Available Callsigns will advise you what
callsigns have or haven't been taken already.
You will need to have chosen a prime and secondary callsign by the time
you have been assessed so that if you are successful you can fill in
the WIA Callsign Recommendation Form at the assessment venue.

< Access the WIA Public List of Available Callsigns
Solving the mystery, when filling in the ACMA paperwork, about where
to specify the callsign you want - use the Licence Options field on the
Apparatus Licence application form R057.
