North Queensland Amateur Radio Convention
Public Access Events
The following list contains events that everyone can attend.
Trade Displays
9am to 5pm Saturday 17th September
9am to 11-30am Sunday 18th September
Charters Towers RSL Club Convention Room
Come and be enticed, sated, edumacated by the
Trade Displays put on by a number of firms including
Navcom Electronics Equipment Display
Barry Dionysius VK4TBD from Navcom will be showing off the latest and greatest
from the ICOM, Yaesu and Diamond product lines.
The Navcom team are also supporting the Convention with
some good deals on equipment.
TET-Emtron Equipment Display
Mark Rawlings VK6MOA is flying in from Perth to show off the latest product
lines from this renown antenna manufacturer. A number of the famous
beam antennae will be available to play with in a live display.
The Townsville Amateur Radio Club Inc.
The Club of Renown will have a stand displaying some of the latest
things happening in the Rado Amateur Hobby, information about the
club and other hobby entities, have on sale the WIA Foundation Manual
2nd Edition and be staffed by hams who can answer just about any
question about the hobby. The clubs QSL bureau will also be there
for those looking to pick up QSL cards.

Car Boot Sale
4pm to 5-30pm Saturday 17th September
Charters Towers RSL Club Carpark
Set up your own stall in the Carpark.
It costs nothing to display or buy, the
only condition for those displaying wares
that the display be safe, colourful and
outward going.
That's right! You have to talk it up and show some
showmanship. That way you will attract
more prospective buyers!
Co-ordinator Gavin/VK4ZZ will decide if you display is Boring and needs spicing up.
Raffles
All weekend !
The Convention is a major funds raiser for
The Townsville Amateur Radio Club Inc
and the Raffles are well supported by generous
donations from those interested in supporting
the Amateur Radio Hobby
Make sure you catch up with a TARCadian with
a raffle book, they will either be at the TARC table or
roaming about the convention venue !
The Famous NQ AR Convention Monster Auction
from 11am sharp Sunday 18th September
Charters Towers RSL Club Side Carpark
Guaranteed to have more monsters per metre than any other
ham radio auction in the WORLD !
The TARC tarps and treasure will be assembled from 8am Sunday morning
(you are invited to help trailer and stack the treasure) and you should not be
tardy for the 9am auction start, lest you miss out on TREASURE !
Be sure to bring your money with you as the quality of the treasure
will ensure brisk bidding !

Not registered ? a $5 pro-rata fee is payable for an auction bidders number !
